Application Process

Download our information sheet on how to apply to the Senior School at Hurst for entry in 2028.

Registration

If you would like your child to be considered for a place in the Senior School at Hurst, please complete our online Registration Form together with payment of the non refundable registration fee. This will reserve a place for your child in the year group required, but does not guarantee a place.

Please register your child at least three years prior to when you would like them to join.

Pre-entry tests

Registered pupils looking to join Hurst at 13+ (Year 9) will be asked to sit the online ISEB Common Pre-tests in Year 6. These tests are age standardised computer tests which measure ability and attainment and include Verbal and Non-verbal reasoning, Maths and English and are designed so that pupils cannot prepare for them. For more information on these tests please visit the website.

Pupils usually sit these tests at their Prep School, which will liaise with parents about the timing of these tests. For pupils who attend non-Common Entrance schools, the Hurst Admissions team will arrange for the tests to be completed at Hurst. For pupils who live outside the UK, the Admissions team will discuss arrangements with individual families.

Offers

On completion of the pre-entry tests, Hurst will discuss the results with the pupil’s current school and look at their academic progress as well as their involvement in extra-curricular activities.

Pupils will be invited to an assessment and experience day early in the Lent (Spring) term of Year 6. They will participate in a carousel of activities which include physical, cerebral and creative tasks. Pupils will also have informal interviews. Based on this information, offers are made by the end of March of Year 6.
