Equestrian

Hurst Equestrian opportunities are expanding. We offer training and team events across equestrian disciplines.

As part of the school week, we offer weekly training sessions atÌý, which is located in theÌýSouth Downs National Park. In 2024, Hurst opened stablesÌýat Hascombe and pupilsÌýwho have their horses stabled there are able to travel on a school minibus once a week for a supervised ride within school hours. This is in addition to the Hurst Equestrian weekly training. On occasionÌýthe team will also train at Hickstead.Ìý

We have a team of around 40 pupils, from ¹ú²úÑÇÖÞ¾«Æ·¸£Àû to the Sixth Form, who represent the College in the equestrian disciplines of Show Jumping, Dressage, and Eventing. They compete at local and national competitions, including the National Schools Equestrian Association (NSEA) Championships. Pupils who are interested in representing the College in the Equestrian team must have their own horse/pony or be able to loan one.

We have close links with the world-famousÌý. Hurst has sponsored the annual National Schools, Pony Club, and NSEA Show Jumping Championships since 2009. In addition, every September we host annual the Hurst Invitational Schools Show Jumping Competition at Hickstead.

Hurst Equestrian has its own website, where you can find out more about training, competitions, results, and news.
