GCSE and A-level results 2025
Hurst College students have much to celebrate as they achieved excellent results in both their GCSE and A-level exams.
This year鈥檚 very strong GCSE results are once again a reflection of the sheer dedication and hard work that has gone into this year group throughout their Middle School journey at Hurst. In a sign of real academic and intellectual strength at the top end, we have seen a significant uplift in the number of 8s and 9s, at a total of 57.5% of all grades awarded. Overall, an impressive 79% of GCSE grades were between 7 and 9.
The Head of College, Dominic Mott, paid tribute not only to those who achieved top grades, but also to those pupils who really engaged with the incredible range of support and interventions on offer. That individual support and those extra Clinics and revision sessions helped every pupil to achieve their personal best: 鈥淚t鈥檚 just 鈥榳hat we do鈥 here at Hurst鈥, he said, 鈥渁nd our staff are so invested in the pupils鈥 success, which makes days like today even more special鈥.
The success continued with the Upper Sixth leavers, who celebrated A-level results day at Hurst with an exceptionally strong set of grades across a wide range of subjects. Over 88% of grades were awarded at A* 鈥 B, leading to a lovely community moment as the students returned to Hurst for the final time to open their envelopes, congratulate each other, and thank their teachers and parents who have supported them over the last two years.
The Head of College, Dominic Mott, commended what he described as a 鈥渇antastic collective achievement鈥, adding that he was 鈥渆xtremely proud of every student who has worked so hard to deserve these grades.鈥 He was particularly pleased to see these grades 鈥渙pen doors to some of the finest university destinations in the country鈥.
In particular, Mr Mott highlighted the sustained improvements at the top end of the cohort. An impressive 60% of grades matched last year鈥檚 record for A* and As, demonstrating what he described as 鈥渢he intellectual and academic rigour demonstrated by our talented Sixth Form students鈥. He also pointed out the remarkable success of the Extended Project Qualification, where over 92% of grades were awarded either A* or A. 鈥淭his is proof not only of the students鈥 dedication and commitment, but also the independence and life skills that they have developed which will prepare them for life beyond Hurst鈥.
Hurstpierpoint College is proud of the achievements of all its students and looks forward to seeing them continue to thrive in their future academic and personal endeavours.
