Eliza, who came up with the idea for the fundraiser, shared her experience:
鈥淚 chose to do a cake sale in aid of the donkey sanctuary, a worldwide charity that helps donkeys and mules all around the world. It is a good place to visit as open free of charge all year round. I adopt a donkey from them and every time I get a new newsletter from them the stories shock and surprise me that people could be treating animals so badly.
My friends were happy to help and together we baked lots and raised 拢208; far more than we were hoping for. Without a collective effort nowhere near as much would have been raised and we can all use this towards one of our 9 ‘Hurst Challenges’ – doing something for the greater good.
