Training

Netball at Hurst takes place in both the Michaelmas (autumn) and Lent Terms. In the Lent Term, Netball is the main sport for girls.

Hurst runs a large number of teams across all age groups and caters for all abilities.

We also offering one-to-one and group sessions for our performance squads.听Part of the Hurst Netball training programme includes supervised听Strength and Conditioning in the Hurst gym.

Tournaments and Fixtures

Hurst Netball teams have full, extensive fixture cards. All teams have fixtures on a Saturday in addition to mid-week games.听Our block fixtures are against some of the strongest netball schools in the South of England and our A teams will travel to play some of the top teams across the country.

Our Netball teams take part in the following tournaments:

  • (SNS) National Cup (1st, U16A, U15A, U14A)
  • National Schools Tournament (1st VII, U16A, U14A)
  • Independent Schools Netball Competition () (1st VII, U15A)
  • Independent Schools League () (1st VII team)
  • Sussex Independent Schools Netball Association (SISNA) Tournament – hosted at Hurst (1st VII, 2nd VII, U16A, U16B, U15A, U15B, U14A, U14B)
  • County Cup (2nd VII, U16B, U15B, U14B)

Netball Facilities at Hurst

Hurst has 10 Netball courts, which includes one indoor court.

Achievements

  • 2018 鈥 U16 3rd place at National Finals and U19 5th place at National Finals
  • 2019 鈥 U14 5th place at National Finals
  • 2020 鈥 U14 and U19 qualified for National Finals but could not attend due to the COVID-19 pandemic
  • 2022 鈥 U16 5th place and U19 11th place at National Finals
  • 2022 鈥 U15 2nd place at SNS National Cup
  • 2023 鈥 U16 3rd place, U14 5th place and U19 5th place at National Finals
  • 2023 鈥 U14 2nd place at SNS National Cup
  • 2024 鈥 U16 5th place at National Finals
  • 2025 鈥 U19 4th place at National Finals
  • 2025 鈥 U16 2nd place at SNS National Cup

I was really excited to find out that Hurst had secured the netball equivalent of David Beckham to train us on Saturday. Lauren W, Fifth Form - speaking about a visit from former England Netball player Tamsin Greenway
