Year 8 pupils showed impressive resilience and enthusiasm as the annual Year 8 Challenge programme was successfully adapted in response to extreme weather conditions.ÌýOriginally planned to include hiking and camping, the programme was revised following the issuance of amber and red weather warnings.ÌýÌý

In place of the expedition, pupils took part in a dynamic and engaging programme of challenge activities, delivered in rotating groups. These included the Pool Challenge, River Crossing Challenge, Navigation Challenge, Archery Challenge and Climbing Challenge. Pupils embraced the new format with great positivity, completing multiple activities andÌýdemonstratingÌýstrong teamwork and determination—bucket hats firmly in place throughout.Ìý

The revised schedule also included a range of social and recreational opportunities. Pupils enjoyed a trip to Cineworld Brighton to watchÌýToy Story 5, followed by a traditional fish and chip supper back at school. A visit to Hollywood Bowl also formed part of the programme, alongside furtherÌýchallengesÌýand group activities.Ìý

The week finished on a high with a water extravaganza—featuring magic flute, spin challenges, slip and slide, water balloonÌýcatapultÌýand water chute—providing plenty of fun,ÌýchaosÌýand a refreshing way to cool off.Ìý
